"WAYS" ist ein Kartenset, das den Kreativprozess in den Bereichen Illustration, Bewegtbild und Foto/Film fördert und eine strukturierte, aber flexible Methode bietet, um die Vorstellungskraft der Teilnehmer*innen zu stimulieren. Es eignet sich für Menschen jeden Alters und kann in verschiedenen Kontexten eingesetzt werden, um kreative Prozesse zu fördern. "WAYS" besteht aus drei Aktionsbereichen, die kombiniert werden können, um neue Ideen und Herangehensweisen zu entwickeln. Es ist ein wertvolles Werkzeug für diejenigen, die auf der Suche nach neuen kreativen Herausforderungen sind.
"WAYS" is a set of cards that promotes the creative process in the areas of illustration, moving image and photo/film and offers a structured but flexible method to stimulate the imagination of the participants. It is suitable for people of all ages and can be used in a variety of contexts to encourage creative processes. "WAYS" consists of three action areas that can be combined to develop new ideas and approaches. It is a valuable tool for those who are looking for new creative challenges.

Nimm Platz und schnapp dir einen langen Papierstreifen. Zeichne dreizehn Bilder darauf und platziere ihn im Zeotrop. Lege eine Schallplatte deiner Wahl auf. Jetzt kannst du das Zeotrop mit deinen Bildern auf die Platte setzen und beobachten, wie die Bilder in Begleitung von Musik zum Leben erweckt werden.
Take a seat and grab a long strip of paper. Draw thirteen pictures on it and place it in the zeotrope. Put on a record of your choice. Now you can place the zeotrope with your pictures on the record and watch the pictures come to life accompanied by music.

"Shape of a Song"

Im Rahmen des Transmediale Vorspiels 2018 präsentierten die Studierenden des Interface und Interaction Designs der UdK in der Ausstellung "Fold/Unfold" Projekte, die sich mit der Faltung als digitale Schnittstellen-Technologie auseinandersetzen. Ein solches Projekt ist "Shape of a Song", das von Hannah Mikysek entwickelt wurde. In "Shape of a Song" wurden drei Musikstücke ausgewählt und untersucht, wie man Musik in ein greifbares Objekt transformieren kann. Mit Hilfe von "Rhino" wurden Abschnitte der Songs in Parameter übersetzt. Die Parameter eines der drei Songs wurden dann in Zentimetern und Neigungswinkeln berechnet und in der Holzwerkstatt der UdK zu einem echten Holzkubus umgewandelt, der durch Magnete zusammengehalten wird. Die Besucher der Transmediale wurden eingeladen, den Kubus zusammenzubauen. Je mehr helfende Hände, desto besser! Dieses Projekt zeigt das Potenzial der Faltung als digitale Schnittstellen-Technologie und wie sie eingesetzt werden kann, um Musik in ein greifbares Objekt zu verwandeln.
As part of the 2018 Transmediale audition, UdK's Interface and Interaction Design students presented projects in the "Fold/Unfold" exhibition that explore folding as a digital interface technology. One such project is "Shape of a Song," developed by Hannah MikysekIn "Shape of a Song," three pieces of music were selected and explored how music can be transformed into a tangible object. Using "Rhino," sections of the songs were translated into parameters. The parameters of one of the three songs were then calculated in centimeters and angles of inclination and transformed into a real wooden cube held together by magnets in the UdK's wood workshop. Transmediale visitors were invited to assemble the cube. The more helping hands, the better! This project shows the potential of folding as a digital interface technology and how it can be used to transform music into a tangible object.
Die Videoarbeit zeigt den natürlichen Kreislauf des Lebens von Pflanzen im Zeitraffer, von ihrem Wachstum bis hin zu ihrem Verfall. Dabei wurde der Prozess durch eine Chemikalie verschnellert, um die Veränderungen in kürzerer Zeit darstellen zu können. Durch die Zeitraffer-Technik werden die Bewegungen der Pflanzen und ihr Vergehen auf eine anschauliche Weise komprimiert, was dem Betrachter die Möglichkeit bietet, die Veränderungen im Verlauf des Zeitraffers zu beobachten.
The video work shown depicts the natural cycle of life of plants in fast motion, from their growth to their decay. The process was accelerated by a chemical in order to show the changes in a shorter time. The time-lapse technique compresses the movement of plants and their decay in a vivid way, allowing the viewer to observe the changes as they occur.

Im Kunstgewerbemuseum Berlin hatten Besucherinnen und Besucher die Möglichkeit, aktiv an dem Werk von Hannah Mikysek und Cecile Vexler teilzunehmen, indem sie eingeladen wurden auf die Ausstellungsfläche zeichnen zu dürften. Dabei dienten Projektionen von Blättern, Ästen und Blüten als Inspiration. Beim Ausschalten des Overheadprojektors entstand ein neues Bild aus den gezeichneten Elementen. Die Post-its bildeten eine Naturlandschaft, die im Laufe der Ausstellung wie Blätter zu Boden fiel und sich von Tag zu Tag veränderte.
At the "Kunstgewerbe Museum" Berlin, visitors had the opportunity to activelyparticipate in the exhibition of Hannah Mikysek and Cecile Vexler by being invited to draw on the exhibition surface. Projections of leaves, branches and flowers served as inspiration. When the overhead projector was turned off, a new image emerged from the drawn elements. The post-its formed a natural landscape that fell to the ground like leaves over the course of the exhibition, changing from day to day.
